Apologies for the question, probably I should have asked it better. I meant if you had to run them in parallel how would you approach? Often we notice that with growing number of tests, test execution takes a lot of time and hence we try to run them in parallel. Since it appears that you have a shared state among unit and UI tests it might be something to consider if in case you go ahead with parallel execution. Really nice article btw :)
